In diagnostic radiology, the following types of applications are used for regulatory purposes for which we provide services.
- Procurement of New or Pre-owned X-ray Equipment:
- This application is required to procure new or pre-owned X-ray equipment after obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and ensuring that the equipment is type-approved by AERB.
- Licence for Operation of X-ray Equipment
- An application must be submitted for obtaining a license to operate diagnostic X-ray equipment. This process ensures that all safety requirements are fulfilled.
- Renewal of Licence:
- Diagnostic radiology facilities must apply for the renewal of their existing license before its expiry. There are separate processes for renewing licenses of new and pre-owned X-ray equipment.
- Decommissioning of X-ray Equipment:
- To decommission X-ray equipment, an application for “Intimation of Decommissioning” must be submitted, followed by a “Confirmation of Decommissioning” from the service provider or supplier.
- Modification of Installation:
- This application is used to report any modifications in the layout or repositioning of X-ray equipment from its original place.
- Periodic Quality Assurance and Radiation Protection Surveys:
- Applications are also submitted for periodic QA or after modifications in the setup. Periodic Radiation Protection Surveys must also be submitted using a specific form.
- Adhoc Applicaions:
- These include various processes like removal of duplicate X-ray equipment, recognition of X-ray technologist courses, and submission of enforcement compliance reports.
These applications help maintain compliance with radiation safety standards and ensure the effective regulation of X-ray equipment in diagnostic radiology facilities.
